Now that Acer has joined the party, along with HP, Sony, and Lenovo, we're seeing a more netbook-like price, undercutting them all with the $379 Aspire One 722. To offer that low price, Acer uses AMD's C Series APU instead of the more powerful E Series. However, this streamlined design with eye-catching lid offers more pep than Atom-powered netbooks along with long battery life. Is this bargain machine right for you?DesignThe Aspire One line has a look that's now becoming classic, but we're not complaining. The 722 looks sleek, thanks to the tapered edges and clean lines. The ripple effect on the lid, which evokes a pool of water disturbed by a single stone, is a nice touch. It helps the 722 to stand out without being gaudy. Given this effect, we prefer the aquamarine version of the model, especially as the color extends from the lid to the deck. É o caso da Acer, que colocou o Fusion C-50 e uma placa gráfica modesta de 256 MB e é claro que a galera do TechTudo não ia deixar de fazer um review deste fantástico netbook. Netbook Acer AO722 Foto Divulgação — Foto TechTudo Design O design deste netbook não é muito diferente do restante da linha Aspire One, da Acer. Ele é pequenininho, leve e compacto; tem boa qualidade de acabamento; teclado com teclas razoavelmente grandes. Enfim, tudo o que um netbook comum já tem. Ao contrário da série Happy, os tons empregados neste modelo são bastante sóbrios e o tom preto-café-expresso domina todo o revestimento do notebook, o que faz ele parecer ainda menor do que já é. Por dentro, a tela de 11,6 polegadas parece ocupar toda a tela do notebook enquanto ele está desligado, mas quando ligamos vemos que ela é um pouco menor do que parece. Não chega a ser um ponto contra, pois a tela do tamanho certo para um netbook. Ainda falando da tela, ela tem um pequeno defeito reflete demais a luz. Isso significa que não é possível usar o netbook numa sala clara ou no sol. Desempenho O notebook conta com processador AMD -C50 de 64bits e 1Ghz. Apesar de não acreditarmos muito por conta disso, o netbook é poderoso o suficiente para rodar vídeos em fullHD testamos os formatos AVI e MKV através de sua porta HDMI. Além disso, consegue reproduzir muito bem os vídeos em HD do Youtube coisa que alguns ATOM não fazem. Ficamos realmente surpresos quando ligamos o computador, mas foi quando trocamos o Windows Starter que já vem incluso pelo Windows Home Premium 64 bits. Percebemos que ele seria um ótimo computador para a maioria das tarefas diárias. Ao contrário dos processadores ATOM, o C-50 da AMD trabalha com a arquitetura de 64 bits e quando utilizado um sistema operacional compatível, o desempenho se torna consideravelmente superior. Durante nossos testes tentamos "estressar" o notebook ao máximo. Bom, apesar do processador de apenas 1Ghz, o computador não decepcionou em alguns jogos não tão pesados. Para isso instalamos o game Portal e, por mais incrível que pareça, a imagem ficou melhor do que no Xbox 360. Outro jogo testado e que rodou muito bem foi o Left 4 Dead. Claro que com as configurações médias, mas para um netbook, o desempenho surpreendeu.
